Ocean's Eleven (1960)

Ocean's 11 (1960)

Director: Lewis Milestone
Starring: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.

Synopsis:
War buddies are reunited to pull off a heist of five Vegas casinos at the same time.

Impressions:
The Rat Pack make a heist movie in between their gigs in Sin City. Sounds like a winning recipe to me. With real-life friends at the core of the group, there's plenty of good chemistry that cements the sense of camaraderie that makes the gang an effective unit. There's also some good humor to be had, both Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. get some singing in, and the buildup, execution and aftermath of the heist are fairly rewarding. Modern viewers may find the remake to be more their pace, but this is worth a watch too.
