Nighthawks (1981)

Nighthawks (1981)

Director: Bruce Malmuth
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Billy Dee Williams, Rutger Hauer

Synopsis:
Two New York detectives are assigned to a special counter-terror task force aimed at hunting down a notorious international terrorist.

Impressions:
A cross-dressing John Rambo and Lando Calrissian take on Roy Batty? Just like my fanfic. ^o^ In all seriousness, this is a decent action thriller that ironically casts Sylvester Stallone as far less gung ho than you would expect and the conflict is as much about him overcoming his reluctance to do what's necessary in the fight against terror as it is about thwarting Wulfgar. Rutger Hauer is solid as the menacing polyglot terrorist and I also liked Nigel Davenport as his highly driven nemesis, the CT expert Hartman. It's worth a watch, at least. You may find you like it quite a bit.
